Angela Bowey is currently Director of Organisation Advice and Research (NZ). She has advised many employing organisations and government departments in NZ, in the UK and overseas. Her specialisms are motivation and remuneration, and she is a leading authority on Gainsharing and remuneration issues. Dr. Bowey also conducts research and writes books.
After obtaining her Ph.D. Angela worked at Manchester Business School for eight years and was then appointed Professor of Business Administration at Strathclyde University in 1976, where she headed the Human Resource Management teaching staff of the Strathclyde Business School. She set up a consultancy and research centre within the University, and throughout her eighteen years in Business Schools, a large part of Angela's job was to provide advice to client organisations in addition to the normal spectrum of management training. She left University teaching in 1986 to become a private consultant.

and a text on Reward Systems for the Open University.
Her most recent management publication was "Motivation: The art of putting theory into practice" an article published in European Business Forum, Winter 2005.
Angela was the Equal Opportunities Commissioner for Scotland for six years from 1980 to 1986, a former member of the Scottish Economic Council; of the Board of Governors of the Scottish Police College, and of the Police Advisory Board Scotland; and an arbitrator for the UK national arbitration service (ACAS).

-redesigned & implemented the annual salary survey of members in the Institute of Professional Engineers, NZ, based on specially prepared job comparison system (1993 - 2003)
-responsible for redesigning and implementing the annual salary survey for the Association of Consulting Engineers, New Zealand (1993 - 2000)
-advisor to Effective Fencing Ltd. on organisation development and remuneration (2004-5)
-consultant to City Design, Auckland, on organisations design and the implementation / operation of Gainsharing (1996- 2001)
-consultant to NZ Can, Auckland on organisation design & implementation of Gainsharing (1996-2000)
-consultant to Chelsea Sugar Refinery, Auckland on the design, implementation and operation of Gainsharing (September 1995-97)
-consultant on organisation development and the design, implementation, and training for Gainsharing at Transportation Auckland (The Yellow Bus Company) April 1995-2001.
-adviser to Tonkin & Taylor (Auckland) on the design of remuneration packages (1995-2000)
-adviser to Olivine NZ Ltd., Power Station purchase and conversion project (1994-96)
-adviser to MAF Fisheries (NZ) on the development and introduction of new systems and procedures for motivating performance and determining pay for staff. This included a major training exercise throughout MAF Fisheries (1989-91)
-undertook an in-depth review of the procedures and systems used in assessing jobs and collecting pay comparability information for the UK Armed Forces (1988-89) and made many recommendations which were implemented.
-consultant to MAF Technology Division (New Zealand) on the design and introduction of a new remuneration system (1987-89)
-consultant to Kuwait Petroleum Ltd. on take-over of a several UK companies, on development of a corporate identity and integrated organisational systems and procedures (1987-88)
-research project on behalf of the New Zealand Law Commission on the operation of pay equity legislation in the UK and its lessons for NZ (1988).
-reviewed and made recommendations on the systems and procedures used by Hammersmith Borough Council for evaluating and paying its 4000+ employees (1986-87)
-carried out research for the Equal Opportunities Commission (UK) into the role of independent experts in equal pay for work of equal value cases in Britain (1988).
-adviser to Gibraltar Shiprepair on improving relationships and increasing efficiency within the organisation (1986-88)
-redundancy counseling project to help staff find new jobs, for Rockwell International Ltd., (over 95% of these staff successfully found jobs) (1987-88)
-consultant to John G. Kincaid Ltd., Scotland, on developing and implementing performance-improvement teams and designing a system for Gainsharing (1981-84)
